NH repeals abortion parental-notice law

Posted at Think Progress

It seems that legislators in NH believe that a teenager should be able to get an abortion without notifying their parents.

Gov. John Lynch (D-NH) “signed legislation Friday that made New Hampshire the first state to repeal a law requiring that a parent be notified before a minor receives an abortion.”

Is that because they believe that the "procedure" is safe enough and routine enough that parents don't need to know? What other medical surgical procedures are minors eligible to receive without notification or approval from parents?

It is truly sad. Parents are responsible for their children and the state is trying to take that responsiblity away and even give some of it to the children. Who is going to be there to pick up the pieces when these children come home from the clinic and the weight of what they have just done is squarly laid upon their shoulders?
