Home Schooling – The Ins And Outs Of Do It Yourself Education

Posted at Buzzle.com.

Most parents automatically dismiss any thoughts of home schooling as simply being impractical and yet today there are more than one million children in the US alone who are being home schooled and the numbers are growing. Not only does home schooling work, but it is also not as difficult as you might think.

In my opinion, the two primary difficulties with homeschooling are really:

1. The level of requirements and commitment that you put on yourself.
2. The level of requirements instituted by the state you live in.
3. The level of commitment in your children.

My wife stays home with the children and ensures that they keep at their studies. We choose the curriculum and set the requirements for what needs to be completed, and the kids are responsible for getting the work done.
