Wasting the Best and Brightest

WASHINGTON, D. C., March 15, 2007 – Forty-nine percent (3.8 million) of full time college students binge drink and/or abuse prescription and illegal drugs, according to Wasting the Best and the Brightest: Substance Abuse at America’s Colleges and Universities, a new report by The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University.

Choose carefully where you send your children to college. Most college age kids are legally old enough to make decisions for themselves, but if they want to go to a school where you're not comfortable sending them, you don't have to feel compelled to fork out the money. Paying for college should come with a high level of involvement and having a "say" in what college you are willing to pay tuition to.
